It doesn't take a genius to realize that this world is in desperate need of revival. I'm not talking about a week long event held in a church where guest pastors speak and visiting choirs sing. I'm talking about genuine revival, a visible change that occurs from the inside out in every member of the church through the power of Jesus Christ.
How can this be happen? How does revival take place?
That's the main purpose of this blog. I am here to offer encouragement along the way as I take this journey every step of the way right next to you because I need revival just as much as anyone else. Together, we'll dig into the Word of the God and see what genuine revival looks like and what sort of impact it would have on the world around us if the world sees us as a true new creation in Christ.
But before we embark on this journey, we all must be willing to do something: pray, and pray hard. Examine your heart through the lens of the Holy Spirit and discover if you really and honestly want revival, or if you're just seeking it because it's the right thing to do. Jesus isn't after fans; He's after followers. Fans seek revival out of obligation. Followers do it out of desire. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." That's God's promise. Those are God's very words. He WANTS to revive us. We must simply be willing to surrender all to His cause and purposes.
The purpose of this blog is not to give someone something to read when they may be bored or have nothing better to do. If you fall in that situation, stop reading because you're not ready to seek revival. But if you truly thirst for Jesus, want to know more about Him, and want to experience genuine and powerful revival, welcome. I hope and pray that everytime you read a post of mine that you'll be encouraged and emboldened to proclaim the gospel of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
To start off, we're going to be dissecting 2 Chronicles 7:14 and all its elements to hopefully fully understand this recipe for revival. What does it look like to humble ourselves? How powerful is prayer? How can one turn from his wicked ways? So fasten your seat belts and be prepared to encounter the almighty God in your own life!
